It's completely normal to have lots of questions about orthodontics whether you're brand new to the process or you had treatment as a child! Please see below for a few common questions, and never hesitate to give us a call with any others. We're here to help you feel comfortable every step of the way!
Not at all! Many of our patients are referred by their family dentist, but many others take the initiative to schedule a free in-office exam. We welcome you to reach out directly!
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic screening at age seven. By this age, several permanent teeth in most children have erupted, allowing us to effectively evaluate their needs and decide if Phase I treatment is necessary.
That's a great question, but generally, no. The space available for the front teeth does not increase as you grow. In most people, after the permanent molars erupt, the space available for the front teeth actually decreases with age.
If you or your child can potentially benefit from orthodontic care, simply call our office, send us an email, or fill out our appointment request form online. We will be happy to schedule a time that works for you! When you call, our front office will just request some basic information to get you started.
We hope these answers were helpful! Remember, there are no silly questions when it comes to your health and smile.
Dr. Kaplan and the team look forward to meeting you!
